Lighting Options for Your Photoshoot

The lighting approach is determined by the package you choose. The more basic option uses natural or available light, while other packages may include off-camera flash.

  • Natural or available light:

    Natural-light packages use suitable daylight or existing light at the location and usually allow us to move between positions with less setup time. If the conditions require additional support, I may use an on-camera speedlite, normally bounced from a suitable wall or ceiling.

  • Off-camera flash:

    You can choose a package that includes off-camera flash or arrange it as a paid add-on where offered. The standard setup uses one light; additional lights cost extra.

  • Advance arrangement:

    Off-camera flash must be arranged before the shoot so that I can plan the equipment, timing and location requirements. If conditions prevent the planned setup, I may use an on-camera speedlite instead, bouncing it from a suitable wall or ceiling where possible or using a larger flash modifier when there is no suitable surface.

The best time for optimal lighting depends on your home's orientation and the quality of natural light. We'll work together to find the ideal time for your photoshoot.
Can you shoot in dimly lit areas of our house?
Yes, I have the equipment and expertise to work in dimly lit areas should you opt for high-end photography. We can discuss any specific lighting needs during our consultation.
Do you offer hair and makeup services for the shoot?
Hair and makeup services can be arranged upon request for an additional fee for the makeup artist. Let me know your preferences, and we can coordinate these services for you.
What is your process for scheduling and rescheduling photoshoots?
We'll discuss scheduling during our initial consultation. If rescheduling is needed due to unforeseen circumstances, we can work together to find a new suitable date and time.
Are there additional charges for traveling to different locations?
There are no additional charges, but the time used for travelling will be counted towards the booked time, and you have to arrange for the transportation. Do also note that we shouldn't be in a rush between locations; please book a longer time.
How many photos should we expect to receive from the session?
The number of photos you'll receive depends on the package that you have chosen. Should there be more good photos that you want, the prices for the additional number of photos are stated on the packages.
What is the turnaround time for receiving the final edited photos?
The turnaround time for receiving final edited photos can vary but is usually within a few weeks, depending on my schedule, since I handle every shoot by myself to ensure the best quality. I prioritise quality in editing to ensure your photos are perfect and I don't rush through the photos to risk the quality.
Do we have the right to print and use the photos for personal or professional use?
Yes, you'll receive full usage rights to print and use the photos for both personal and professional purposes; however, you don't have the rights to sell them or transfer the rights to another person.
Can we order prints or albums through you?
Unfortunately, no. I wish to focus on doing photography and not earn through other means. Moreover, I'm quite environmentally-friendly and advocate for not producing unnecessary carbon waste. Print only what you think is needed.
