Overall Benefits

  1. High‑Quality Work:

As a photographer, I take great pride in delivering high‑quality images. If you join my team, you'll have the opportunity to add truly stunning work to your portfolio. Please check out my portfolio to see for yourself.

  2. Targeted Exposure:

My content‑rich website attracts significant traffic, making it a valuable platform for anyone looking to gain visibility in the photography industry. With strong search presence and daily engagement, you'll receive wide exposure to diverse audiences when working with me. It's an excellent way to increase your reach and recognition.

  3. Testimonials:

I believe in acknowledging and promoting the talents I collaborate with. If you work with me, I'll be glad to highlight your contributions and provide testimonials that strengthen your reputation and credibility in the industry.

For example, I wrote an article to promote one of my best clients who excels in both profession and character. I also list my makeup artists and hairstylists so clients can choose them directly.

I actively help my team build their branding materials, ensuring they have professional images to represent themselves confidently.

Hair and Makeup Artists

  1. Why I'm looking for hair and makeup artists:

I already collaborate with a few trusted hair and makeup artists, but our schedules often clash. Many live far from me and have their own commitments, which limits future plans. That's why I'm seeking additional skilled artists to join my professional network.

  2. What I'm looking for:

I value artists who are flexible, reliable, and easygoing. We sometimes work in challenging conditions, such as outdoor settings. My team has even done makeup in McDonald's and hawker centres — it's part of the adaptability required. That said, completing work within the agreed timeframe is essential to keep shoots on schedule.

  3. The perks:

Unlike agencies or studios, I don't collect referral fees or commissions for recommending clients. This ensures my makeup artists can provide their best services without restrictions.

In addition, I'll capture your work through my lens, including behind‑the‑scenes shots, and I'll be happy to take professional portraits of you to support your own marketing. Having polished, professional images of yourself is a valuable asset for showcasing your talent.

  4. How to apply:

If you're interested, please send me your existing portfolio so I can review your work. Since I only collaborate long‑term with artists I've tested, we'll arrange trial shoots to understand each other's working styles before officially teaming up.

  5. Note:

It would be ideal if you're based in or near the west side of Singapore, as this makes coordination easier.

Models

  1. Why I'm looking for models:

I need to test equipment and shooting styles. I work across many genres of photography and some clients would opt for privacy buyout, such that I can't update my portfolio. Models help me create and refine these works.

People sometimes reach out requesting models, but I'm not able to recommend any, since I haven't been working with models. Building a diverse network of committed models prepares me for different situations and opens opportunities for new ventures.

  2. What I'm looking for:

I want to work with models who have strong personalities, are flexible, and open‑minded. Versatility and attitude are key qualities for a successful collaboration.

  3. The perks:

You'll gain more than just high‑quality photos for your portfolio. Since I offer modelling portfolio sessions, you'll benefit from my experience and guidance. I also have a page on my website dedicated to showcasing freelance model collaborators, featuring only high‑quality images taken by me. I value and protect the people I work with — you'll be in good hands.

  4. How to apply:

If you're interested, simply drop me a message and mention that you found me through this page. If you fit what I'm looking for, we'll schedule and plan photoshoots together when I'm more available.

  5. Note:

It would be best if you're based in West Singapore. Please also be patient when reaching out, as I manage a busy schedule.

Videographers

  1. Why I'm looking for videographers:

Clients often request videography services, and I don't want to turn them down any longer. That's why I'm building a team that can offer comprehensive packages, especially for weddings.

  2. What I'm looking for:

I'm seeking videographers who are responsible, dependable, and professional. Unfortunately, I've had experiences with videographers who were late even for private appointments, and that's not acceptable. Punctuality and clear communication about schedule changes are essential.

  3. How to apply:

If you're a talented videographer looking for more project opportunities, we could be a great fit. I'm always on the lookout for new and exciting projects, and working together could help us both achieve our goals. To apply, simply send me your portfolio, and we'll discuss how we can collaborate.

  4. Note:

Please be patient when reaching out, as I manage a busy schedule. I'll respond as soon as I can.

Professional Standards

Working with me means joining a team built on trust, professionalism, and shared values. These guidelines outline the qualities I look for in collaborators — whether makeup artists, assistants, or second photographers — to ensure every project runs smoothly and respectfully. They are not just rules, but principles that help us maintain harmony, protect clients, and deliver work we can all be proud of. By understanding and embracing these expectations, we create an environment where creativity thrives and long‑term collaboration becomes possible.

  1. Appreciates my artwork and character

The main reason someone wants to work with me should be that they appreciate my artwork and character. For a stranger to understand me, they should have spent time and effort going through my website to study my work and writing. If the reasons for working with me are simply to gain exposure from my social media following or out of desperation to find a collaborator, the relationship likely won't last. Without genuine appreciation, there won't be enough trust for long‑term collaboration.

  2. Good EQ

Team members should be sensitive to situations. For example, if a client seems awkward with the presence of a third person, the assistant may want to step aside to allow the client to feel more at ease. A positive vibe is essential — if someone shows a “black face” or restless attitude during a shoot, it affects the entire team.

Example: During a sensual photoshoot with an open‑minded client, we suggested poses she hadn't tried before. I gave her time to decide, making it clear she had the final say. It was nearly midnight (she had arrived late), and the makeup artist grew frustrated and sleepy. Instead of guiding the client, she lectured me, telling me to “speak up” when I had already given clear instructions and was waiting for the client's response. It was awkward and unprofessional.

  3. Open‑minded

Some genres may be more sensual. Therefore, collaborators must be open‑minded and comfortable working with clients who may show more skin. Professional photographers should be treated with trust and respect.

Example: A makeup artist once tried to cover up a client unnecessarily, making her tenser and creating awkwardness.

  4. Upholds values

We work with many people, including aspiring models. We must keep them safe and avoid associating with black sheep in the industry. By working with questionable individuals, innocent talents may mistakenly assume we've verified their character and let their guard down.

Example: A makeup artist friend was approached by someone later revealed to have been charged for outrage of modesty. She tried to persuade me to join him for “business opportunities”. I refused, and she insulted me for not wanting to make money.

  5. Good stamina

I do many on‑location shoots. Team members should have the stamina to follow through, especially outdoors. Clients pay for professionals to stay through the shoot and provide touch‑ups or assistance when needed.

  6. Able to keep confidential details

We discuss clients' merits and flaws — no one is perfect. Leaking these discussions can sow discord, especially if words are misrepresented.

Example: I once told a makeup artist not to expect too many good photos (less variety) due to constraints. As she bore grudges towards me, she misled the talent into thinking I was “bashing” her. Luckily, the talent confronted me directly.

  7. Shares all problems regarding the shoot with me

We work as a team, and I oversee everything. I need to know issues that affect the shoot, even if they seem “sensitive”.

Example: A talent forgot nipple stickers and asked the makeup artist for some tape. The makeup artist was dodgy about it, making me feel like an outsider and creating unnecessary tension.

  8. Able to communicate well in English via texting

I'm bilingual in English and Chinese, but texting in Chinese is difficult. If someone's English is weaker than mine, communication suffers.

Example: Miscommunication with a makeup artist who had poor English skills caused frustration over time.

  9. Good rapport with me

Team members must be on the same frequency to deliver ideas. Sometimes, female collaborators can better communicate certain concepts to female clients.

Example: In a group chat with a talent, a makeup artist blamed me privately for not being direct enough, instead of clarifying details herself. The talent eventually declined the idea directly.

  10. Able to work within timeframe

Timing is critical. If makeup or preparation takes too long, we may miss the golden hour or have to change concepts on the spot.

Example: I've experienced delays where morning shoots became midday or evening shoots, affecting quality and concepts.

  11. Does the actual work

If staying through the shoot, the primary duty is to care for the client's image — touching up makeup, fixing hair, and ensuring presentation. Neglecting this reduces quality.

  12. Handles physical contact with client

As a male photographer, I avoid physical contact with female clients. Female team members must assist with outfit adjustments or posture corrections when necessary.

  13. Keeps proper hygiene of tools

Hygiene is essential. For example, brushes and tools must be cleaned after every makeup job to avoid infections or discomfort for sensitive clients.

  14. Quick confirmation

When I have a project, I need quick confirmation (not just a reply). It's fine to decline, but dragging confirmation makes it hard to find replacements on short notice.

How to Apply?

Thank you for your interest in working with me.

When you contact me, kindly state your purpose clearly and provide your portfolio for me to review.

Please note that I often receive spam messages and weird enquiries, so I may not be able to reply to unclear messages or those that do not include a portfolio. I apologise in advance if I miss your message, but I may not be able to respond to every inquiry due to the high volume of messages I receive. I'm often caught up with work and sometimes I don't even have time to reply to potential clients.

However, I will review every application thoroughly and I'll get in touch with you if you're shortlisted. If you don't hear from me, it means that I've decided to pursue other options.
