Booking Process
A gentle, step-by-step journey — designed with clarity, care, and emotional resonance
Please note: a timeslot is only considered booked once the booking fee has been placed. Discussions alone do not reserve a slot.
Check Rates, Service Agreement & FAQ
Before contacting me, clients should read these pages:
- Rates & Packages:
See the investment for professional, personalised photography. This ensures clarity and helps decide if my services fit your budget.
If the price for personalised photography isn't what you wish to invest, it's fine to explore other photographers. This protects everyone's time and energy.
- Service Agreement:
Outlines collaboration terms, boundaries, and commitments. Reading avoids misunderstandings later.
Skipping this by being "too busy" often leads to confusion and missed expectations.
- Privacy Policy:
Explains how images and information are handled. Important for clients needing discretion or considering a privacy buyout.
By default, I publish work online to inspire others. If full privacy is preferred, request the add-on during consultation.
- FAQ:
Answers common questions on process, timelines, and style. Saves time and builds confidence before reaching out.
Photography involves many components, and each photographer works differently. Reading the FAQ clarifies my approach.
Reading these pages sets the tone for transparency and respect. It ensures clients understand the basics, so conversations focus on meaningful details, creative alignment, and trust.
Enquire for Package Consultation
Clients who are interested in booking a photoshoot session can visit the contact page and click on the WhatsApp icon to text me directly. Please answer the template questions as clearly and thoroughly as possible. Kindly note: calls are not accepted unless scheduled in advance.
Clients can share their hopes, ask questions about the packages, and explore possibilities. This helps us understand if we're a good fit and allows me to suggest the most suitable package.
If any add-ons are needed — such as a privacy buyout (so that I won't publish the final photos anywhere) — it's best to mention them during this stage so the final quote reflects everything clearly. No surprises later.
Please note: tailored ideas and creative advice are not offered at this stage. In recent years, some "shoppers" have approached photographers mainly to gather ideas, only to book elsewhere based on price. This drains energy and makes it harder for me to respond to serious clients — which feels unfair to them and to myself.
Place Booking Fee
Once we're aligned, a booking fee secures the session. This step affirms commitment and opens the creative portal. It also allows me to allocate time and care to clients who truly value the experience.
Please note that if the booking fee isn't paid, any discussed timeslot is not considered booked.
Discuss Ideas, Outfits, Location, Date & Others
This is a collaborative planning phase. Clients are supported in expressing their vision, choosing outfits, and selecting meaningful locations and timings.
Since clients will be using their own outfits, I'll gently guide them to preview photos in their chosen outfits and share them with me — this helps with planning and styling.
If you are considering any intimate photography with me, please also visit Trust and Transparency in Intimate Photography for important information about how I approach safety, boundaries, and collaboration in such sessions.
Enjoy the Actual Shoot
The session unfolds with care. I guide clients gently, allowing space for spontaneity, emotion, and sanctuary-safe expression. My style leans toward natural, candid lifestyle imagery — and I guide without physical contact. This may take a little more time, but the slower pace often leads to deeply meaningful results.
Complete Payment
The remaining balance (total price minus the booking fee) is paid at the end of the shoot, on the same day. The photo selection timeline begins only after full payment is received.
Select Photos
This usually takes around a week, depending on my schedule. Clients should book the session earlier if they're in a rush, or they can include the expedited delivery add-on.
Clients receive a low-resolution curated gallery to choose their favourite images. I may include a few behind-the-scenes moments — not always glamorous, but often worth keeping as part of the memory.
The number of final photos included is stated in each package. Clients can purchase additional images if they wish — though I always believe that less is more.
Receive Final Photos
This usually takes around two weeks, depending on my schedule.
Final edits are delivered with love via a download link. Clients receive high-resolution images, ready for sharing or safekeeping. If larger files are needed for printing or special use, that can be discussed during the initial consultation.
Most packages include basic edits to preserve authenticity. If skin retouching (advanced editing) is desired, this add-on can be requested after receiving the final photos.
CASE STUDY: Why Booking Fees and Clear Requirements Are Essential
I once received an enquiry filled with many red flags. The sender left out basic details, said the shoot was for her "partner", asked for "examples" despite my portfolio being online, and kept changing locations. Even when I requested direct communication, her partner showed little urgency, deleted messages before I could read them, and overall they weren’t aligned.
With unclear requirements, I couldn’t provide a proper quotation. Lighting, editing, number of photos, and privacy considerations all affect pricing — without clarity, there’s a risk of price shock.
When I later fell ill, I explained I could likely proceed, but we needed to finalise the package immediately. Instead, she accused me of being "unprofessional" for "cancelling" a "confirmed shoot". In reality, no package was chosen and no booking fee was placed, so the shoot was never confirmed.
I also often receive inquiries where people ask about availability but ignore the rates clearly listed on my website. Many disappear or reply awkwardly that it’s beyond their budget, showing they haven’t reviewed crucial information or don’t fully appreciate the value of professional photography.
This case reinforced why my process is structured the way it is:
- Direct communication with the person being photographed.
- Clear discussion of requirements (lighting, editing, location, mood, privacy, etc.).
- Package selection and booking fee before any date is considered confirmed.
When these steps are respected, shoots run smoothly, expectations are aligned, and the results are beautiful.
CASE STUDY: Why Booking Fees and Clear Requirements Are Essential
I once received an inquiry where there were many red flags. The sender left out key details such as her name and package preference, and after asking, I learned the shoot was for her "partner". She asked for "examples" of my work, despite my portfolio being clearly available online, which suggested she hadn’t reviewed it before reaching out. She also changed locations. Even after I requested direct communication with her partner in a group chat, he showed little urgency, later deleted messages before I could read them (which was frustrating), and ultimately proved that they weren’t fully aligned.
The lack of clarity around requirements meant I couldn’t even provide a proper quotation. Different lighting setups, editing scopes, number of photos, and copyright/privacy considerations can change the price range significantly — I always need to understand the full requirements before quoting, to avoid any price shock.
When I later fell ill and had to postpone, I assured them that if my condition didn’t worsen, I could continue with the shoot — but we had to finalise all details (such as the package) immediately. The lady replied only the next day, accusing me of being "unprofessional" for "cancelling" a "confirmed shoot".
In reality, no package was chosen and no booking fee was placed. Without these, the shoot was never formally confirmed.
Very often, people also reach out to me asking about my availability on their preferred dates. After I share my rates — which are clearly listed on my website — they either disappear without replying or respond awkwardly that it is beyond their budget. This shows they did not go through the crucial information on my website before contacting me, and often indicates they may not fully appreciate the value of professional photography.
