Professional children's photographer in Singapore Hello! I'm Skai, a children's photographer in Singapore and, on energetic days, a friendly neighbourhood playmate carrying rather more camera equipment than usual.

My journey began through time spent with nieces, nephews and neighbourhood children. Family gatherings and playdates taught me that childhood rarely follows a script: the expression worth keeping often happens between the planned photographs. A turning point came when parents noticed that my birthday-party pictures preserved not only how their children looked, but their laughter, excitement and relationships.

I enjoy entering a child's world instead of asking the child to enter mine. Depending on their personality, that may mean running, laughing, observing quietly or giving them time to investigate the setting. I still provide direction when it helps, but the goal is not to turn a child into a miniature professional model.

Is This Session Right For You?

Can I bring siblings or other family members to the photoshoot?
Yes. Siblings, parents and other important family members can be included. Let me know who will attend and which groupings matter to you so I can recommend enough time and plan the session properly.
My child is shy around new people. Can we still have a photoshoot?
Yes. I can begin slowly, give your child space and use a familiar location or activity to help them settle. A shy expression can also be part of their real personality; the session does not depend on forcing an immediate smile.

Planning Your Photoshoot

Can I bring props to the photoshoot?
Yes. Familiar toys, books or meaningful objects can help personalise the photographs and give a child something natural to do. Please discuss large, messy or unusual props with me beforehand so I can plan for them safely.
What time should I schedule my child's photoshoot?
Choose a time when your child is normally rested, fed and in a good mood rather than planning solely around the prettiest light. For an outdoor session, we can balance that routine with heat, weather and lighting conditions.
What should I bring for a young child?
Useful items may include water, simple snacks, wipes, a change of clothes, comfort items and a favourite toy. Avoid treats that could stain clothing unless they are intended to appear in the photographs.

During the Photoshoot

Can I request specific poses or shots during the photoshoot?
Yes. Share important poses, combinations or references in advance so I can prepare, while allowing enough flexibility for the child's mood, comfort and safety on the day.
What if my child will not sit still or smile on command?
That is common. I can use movement, play, conversation and short breaks instead of expecting a child to hold a pose. Natural curiosity and laughter often produce more personal photographs than a forced smile.
Can parents stay nearby during the photoshoot?
Yes. A parent or guardian should remain present, especially for younger children. You can provide reassurance and help with practical needs, while I may occasionally ask you to stand near the camera or give the child space depending on what helps them engage.

The appropriate duration depends on age, location, outfit changes, family groupings and the range of photographs requested. Young children may need time to settle or take breaks, so a session with some breathing room is usually more productive than a rushed one.
Are studio hire, venue fees or special props included?
Not necessarily. Studio or venue hire, permits, travel, parking, special props and advanced retouching may be additional costs. I will identify relevant costs when we plan the session and before you confirm the booking.
