Corporate Headshot with Don Guo

I received this request from Don quite last minute — not on the same day, but close enough to feel urgent. At first, I thought it would be a very normal headshot session. Only when I arrived at his home did I realise the twist: Don had completely forgotten about his company’s gift exchange until being reminded, and now needed something creative fast.

If it were me, I would have panicked with the deadline so near. But Don surprised me — instead of stressing, he leaned into the idea of making a unique gift. Technically, he fouled the rules since the photography fee was many times over the budget limit, but in the end, he was simply putting his own photo into the gift.

By the time I reached, he had just woken up, yet prepared himself quickly and confidently. I was impressed by how natural he was in front of the camera, and the fun we shared throughout the shoot. Eventually, he selected three headshots and asked me to combine them into one photo, complete with the playful label: "Boss is watching."

Don actually runs the company, yet remained humble and creative throughout. I’m thankful to have met someone with such originality — turning a simple headshot into a memorable gift and a story worth sharing.
