Outdoor Fitness Photoshoot with Cynthia Heng

After the yoga set, we moved on to a more general fitness shoot. Cynthia and the makeup artist, Ivy Tan, went to get changed and did a quick touch‑up while I headed to the second location to wait for them.

I made the big mistake of not dismantling my light before setting off — I ended up holding the heavy, bulky light in one hand while dragging my large bag along. It wore me down quite a bit. Thankfully, I managed to get some rest while waiting, and in the meantime, I explored the pond area to find a good spot for the shoot.

Although the pond area was less visited by others, there were still occasional visitors. From time to time, we had to pause to make way for them. Instead of stopping constantly, we allowed some photobombs to remain in the photos — which, in turn, made the images look more authentic and less editorial‑like.

Ivy was kind enough to stay on for a while before rushing off, and Cynthia was open to trying out more ideas. That openness allowed us to capture more interesting shots. I was glad to get more of her smiles — photos that were informal but captured her natural charm.

She gave off such a positive vibe that I probably enjoyed the shoot even more than she did. The combination of her energy, openness, and natural charisma made the final set a memorable conclusion to our session.
