Restaurant Couple Photoshoot with Hendra & Grace

This couple photoshoot was done after the success of Hendra's wedding proposal for Grace.

Hendra's first message impressed me for he was quite detailed in explaining everything. Upon realising that he was going to propose to Grace in the Ocean Restaurant, I immediately listed the possible restrictions, which would affect the photo quality.

It was a huge risk because I often explained too much to not let clients have wrong expectations, and it might in turn give them the wrong impression that I wasn't confident in my art. Hendra was understanding and accepted my explanation. Somehow, he was very special.

On the day of the photoshoot, the manager of the Ocean Restaurant, Winnie, was surprised that I turned up very early. The fact was that professional photographers would usually leave their houses earlier just in case of any unforeseeable problems. I waited for nearly an hour. I was grateful that the staff of the restaurant had tried to offer me drinks throughout.

It was my first visit to the restaurant. The ambience of the aquarium dining area was exceptionally romantic. However, being forbidden from using flash photography made the lighting situation extremely challenging.

After the casual photoshoot session with the huge aquarium, we moved to the reception area. If only I could set up my light to blend with the ambient light, the results would be ideal.
