Modelling Portfolio Photoshoot with Meron

One goal of this set was to produce educational material to help the public. Meron would have her photographs taken with and without wearing transparent bra straps. I would then put the photographs "side by side" to draw comparisons. For the modelling portfolio, we would only use the photographs with the "correct" outfit.

Throughout my photography journey, I encountered many girls who fancy bras with transparent bra straps. They didn't feel secure wearing a strapless or nude bra. Having bra straps would also help to lift their breasts up, which would give a better visual effect.

However, having the transparent bra straps visible, for outfits like tube tops, actually creates a less-than-pleasant visual effect.

First of all, the transparent material isn't really transparent, especially after being used a few times. I usually call them translucent instead of transparent. To me, it's better to either show it or don't show it at all. For example, if a girl is wearing an outfit that would reveal her shoulders, I would rather she use normal bra straps than the translucent type. It's not very good to let viewers think the bra straps are accidentally being revealed.

Secondly, the translucent bra straps would actually attract more attention as they are reflective. As long as there's light, whether it's sunlight, lamp or light produced by photography lighting, the reflection will be visible. It doesn't look professional for a photoshoot.

Lastly, most girls won't realise when the bra straps press down on their shoulders, there will be bra line marks. Depending on how tight it was, there may even may redness. It actually happens to all kinds of bras with straps but the big difference is that the translucent bra straps would make the redness and marks visible.

I believe the purpose of using this type of bra is to not show any bra strap and since the purpose is being defeated, why use it? As for casual use, it solely depends on individuals' preferences. Maybe some girls may find it a fashionable style to show off the transparent bra straps.

As it would affect the quality of photographs, I'm strongly against the usage of it for a photoshoot.
