Outdoor Garden Couple Photoshoot with Andrew & Vicky

Andrew staged a vacation trip to Gardens by the Bay with Vicky's brother, Peter. I pretended to be Peter's online gaming friend who volunteered to take them around the place and photograph them.

The planning for this surprise marriage proposal shoot was exhausting for they were foreigners and thus had little knowledge about Singapore. While I tried to give my best advice to Andrew, I had to beware of giving him confirmation on things that had too much variants, such as the weather and crowds. I felt like I was giving a crash course on photographer for beginners as I had to be upfront as usual, to explain about the restrictions of photography, especially using natural light.

It was months of planning ahead before they came over from Australia.

While my advice was to start the shoot in the early morning, we had to compromise with reality that it was challenging for them. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned and thus the shoot was delayed. On a good side, the weather wasn't as bad (warm) as I had anticipated.

I went to the garden much earlier to scout the different locations although I had already been there before long ago, to make sure there wasn't any changes. My initial suggestion for Andrew was at the Water Lily Pond but the tree branches had outgrown to cover the view. I proposed another spot right before they arrived.

I was quite horrified as Peter was a quiet guy and I was afraid that Vicky could see through us. Fortunately, things went as planned. Followed by the success proposal, we continued with some casual couple photoshoot.
