Corporate Headshot Photoshoot with Christophe Tournerie

When Mrs Tournerie first contacted me for this corporate photoshoot on the very next day (April's Fool), I was a little sceptical. However, as we spoke over the phone, I was mesmerised by her attitude; I could sense she's a very nice and respectful lady, and it put me peace of mind.

We initially agreed to do the photoshoot in the late afternoon but Christophe needed the photograph urgently for his magazine submission and we pushed it forward to the morning. As I was fatigued during that period, probably due to having excessive vegetarian meals without proper supplement planning, my girlfriend advised me to take my breakfast before leaving. I studied the location of the building and its height, and I was quite certain that the view would be well protected from the direct sun. Since the sunlight wouldn't affect the shoot much, I arranged the photoshoot at around 10.30am instead of the earlier time that I usually would push for.

That morning, I travelled over on foot as it was quite near my place. I brought a studio strobe and two speedlites along but I was quite sure that the third one would be just for spare. I took a long time to set up two lighting as I wasn't very used to configuring a new workhorse (a powerful speedlite).

We started using a white wall and I designed the light to give him a clean look, and the white background would also be more evenly lit up. The second session was done by the windows with a single light, which managed to show his features better. He chose the latter.

Christophe was humble and easygoing. Therefore, I was at ease throughout the photoshoot, except when his helpful colleague came over to offer kind suggestions. Christophe, however, was very firm and clear-minded and decided to stick to what we had just both agreed. Otherwise, it would be quite challenging to create a picture to meet the standard of more than one creative person in a short time. I gave him some guidance and his memory was good that he managed to use them throughout the shoot.

We were all satisfied with the final product.
