Corporate Photo Shoot - Phang Tsang Wing
Phang is one of the most polite people I have met. Throughout the discussion, he was very straightforward and easygoing.
For the main look, he wanted to be in his formal wear. He wanted to capture the nice scenery of Marina Bay as the background, which was the reason for booking the hotel room; therefore it required a big depth of field to keep the background sharp, especially when I needed to keep the focus on him with the background far away. Since he was the main subject, I had to keep him properly lighted by adding in artificial light. The challenge of the shoot was the glass windows, which was reflective and thus I had to play around with the positions of my lighting. I was glad that Phang was very patient, understanding and cooperative.
As we moved to the other parts of the hotel, I was not able to carry my lighting with me. Therefore, I could only mount a speedlite on my camera's hot shoe. Since the speedlite was not as powerful as my portable studio strobe and that I had to play with bouncing of flash that would further reduce the power of the speedlite, I had to sacrifice the ISO at times.
This shoot is a birthday gift to himself and I'm glad to be able to produce photographs that he appreciates.
Special thanks to the friendly staffs of the hotel
