I'm a freelance photographer based in Singapore. I work with good clients who appreciate my work to support my photography equipment and make a simple and very honest living.
Occasionally, I do collaborate with my friends (volunteer models and makeup artists and hairstylists) whenever I'm available to create astonishing artwork for marketing or educational purposes. I have also taken the pain to create a good number of tips and resources to help the photography industry.
Photography is a sunset industry where amateur photographers (and desperate experienced ones) often emerge to lower down the photography market rates; thus fewer clients are willing to pay photography rates that professional photographers deserve for their equipment, skill and hard work. In fact, with the common viewing of amateur work with exceptional compliments in social media, more people are subconsciously being drawn to amateur work and have a lower appreciation for high-quality ones.
I can only take up limited projects because I have to spend a lot of time and effort on every photoshoot. Therefore, just like most artists in Singapore, I'm struggling too.
