A Note to the Sincere and Open-Minded

Understanding My Craft, My Boundaries, and What It Means to Work Together

I'm Sorry

I owe you an apology if I take a little longer to respond to your enquiry.

As a solo photographer, I pour my heart and soul into every project, which means my time to catch up on emails or texts can be limited. I choose to work alone because I believe in personally managing every detail to ensure bespoke quality. While this limits the number of clients I can take on, it also guarantees that each project is a tailor-made masterpiece. If you value this approach, I trust you'll understand the importance of patience.

If your project requires me to sit down to estimate the effort and give you an accurate quotation, I might take a longer time to respond.

If you don't hear from me within 48 hours, it's likely because I'm juggling multiple shoots, fallen sick or have run into a situation where someone's taken advantage of my (little) kindness. Feel free to send me a gentle WhatsApp reminder—I truly appreciate your patience.

I only Reply When I'm in Front of My Desktop

Using a phone requires excessive scrolling, making it slower and more prone to mistakes, including typos. I want to avoid providing incorrect information. Additionally, I often need to reference multiple pieces of information and share detailed responses, which is inefficient on a mobile device with a soft keyboard instead of a physical one. Sometimes, I struggle to find time to sit down.

We're All Strangers Here

You may be a reputable individual or an icon in your industry, but I might not know you. I don't follow the news much; I focus on my art. To me, everyone is a stranger, ready to be a friend, and I treat everyone equally, with respect and fairness.

But as much as I strive to be kind, there are times when my time gets wasted by people enquiring only to price-check or without any intention of working with me. My experience taught me how to filter sincere enquiries but there are times I may make a mistake.

So, I kindly ask you to share as much detail about your vision and requirements as possible. Show me that you're sincere, so we can dive straight into discussing how to create images that meet your goals and match the level of quality I strive to achieve.

Artistic Photography Needs More Care

Genres like boudoir or other artistic projects are more sensitive. I'm committed to creating masterpieces, not work that distinguishes itself from tasteful art. If you're considering such a shoot, please express your sincerity, open-mindedness and clearly outline your goals and preferences. I'm not interested in having any physical contact with anyone but my wife.

Let's ensure we're on the same page to make something special.

Finding the Right Match

There are thousands of photographers in Singapore, each with different styles, rates and approaches. If budget is your top priority and you're not particularly drawn to my work, I recommend exploring hobbyist photographers who might align better with your needs.

While I want to help as many kind souls as I can, I believe that not every photographer and client is a perfect match. Photography is personal and I'd rather work with those who value my craft than force a collaboration that doesn't feel right for either of us.

Quotation Enquiries

I understand that many corporate companies require their staff to submit a standard minimum of three quotations before deciding on a vendor. However, I must be fair to clients who genuinely seek my help—those who appreciate my work and believe I can add value to their lives. Given my limited time, I prefer to spend my efforts helping those who truly deserve it. I am not interested in entertaining enquiries that are simply intended for quotation purposes, as every enquiry requires significant effort to gather details and provide an accurate quote.

In this internet world, I am fortunate to be favoured by search engines that value my content, and as a result, I receive a high volume of enquiries. Consequently, I do get a fair amount of enquiries from people who are not very sincere. Please, if you are not serious about working together, skip my services—it only reflects poorly on you.

Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to working with those who value the art of bespoke photography.

The Philosophy Behind My Packages

A proclaimed photographer has testified that my photography rates are on the lower side.

In the vast landscape of professional photography, it's crucial to recognise the individuality of each artist. My photography rates are no exception; they're bespoke, tailored to a unique composition that might not sync with the symphony of the so-called professional market rates, a spectrum where different photographers wield their perspectives on the monetary value.

Transparency is my cornerstone. No smoke and mirrors – your investment is laid out meticulously online. But here's the golden rule: resist the temptation to play the comparison game. My packages stand in a league of their own, deviating from the conventional offerings of other professional photographers.

Now, about those price wars? Not my scene. I refrain from delving into competitors' rates, choosing instead to dedicate that time to responding to the queries of discerning clients like yourself.

Fairness is woven into the fabric of my approach. I've consciously excluded what I consider non-essential. My rates mirror affordability, not due to alignment with market norms, but because I diligently omit services I find unnecessary. Regular revisions of my photography rates help sustain my photography business.

In essence, these rates are a testament to a commitment to simplicity, a deliberate focus on the essence of photography. Remember – these rates are a narrative in themselves, telling a story of value and discernment.

Approach me if you appreciate my work and personality, not merely because of my photography rates, whether they lean towards the higher or lower ends. Understand that photographers abound, charging a small fraction or multiples of my rates.

Let's hope our artistic sensibilities align for a splendid collaboration.

Finding a photographer is like shopping for a piece of painting. If you appreciate art, you are likely to pay a good price for good work; if you simply need a painting to be hung on the empty wall, you are likely to grab the cheapest deal possible. Unfortunately, most people cannot appreciate art work and it is not their fault for having different interest.
