Healing Conversation in Singapore
Empathetic support for heartbreak, rejection, and emotional setbacks—offered through personal, non-clinical conversation that honours your story and help you move forward.
Finding Strength Through Conversation
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and sometimes we face setbacks that leave us feeling lost, disheartened, or unsure of our place in the world. Moving forward after such experiences isn't just important—it's essential for our well-being. My own journey through the highs and lows of life has equipped me with unique insights and deep empathy for those struggling to find clarity and strength again.
Healing conversations are not only for those experiencing heartbreak in relationships. They are for anyone carrying emotional weight—whether you've lost someone close, faced the pain of losing a job, struggled with feelings of failure, or lived with low self-esteem since young. These moments can make us question our worth and direction, but they also hold the potential for growth and renewal.
Many of us who have suffered deeply—whether through love, loss, or personal challenges—are affectionate and sensitive individuals. We invest wholeheartedly in life and relationships, and when things don't work out, it can feel overwhelming. I understand these struggles and am here to walk alongside you, offering guidance and perspective drawn from lived experience.
My mission is to provide empathetic support and encouragement, ensuring that no one feels alone in their journey to heal, rebuild confidence, and rediscover hope. Whether you are navigating grief, rebuilding after setbacks, or simply seeking a safe space to share, this is a place for you.
I'm not here to dictate your future path or preach solutions. Instead, I aim to help you open your eyes to different perspectives, empowering you to move forward with renewed strength and clarity.
Why Chat with Skai
Throughout my life, I've been fortunate that many people love chatting with me, and I make friends easily. Even food stall staff often strike up conversations with me more than with other customers, and elderly people enjoy sharing their thoughts with me. These everyday encounters have reminded me how natural connection can be when someone is approachable and genuinely interested.
One thing I've noticed, however, is that most people aren't truly good listeners. Many love sharing their stories and knowledge, but when I try to interact or offer my views, they often cut me off and continue with their own opinions. As a result, they sometimes misunderstand my meaning. This made me realise how rare patient listening really is—and how much the world needs more of it.
I've learned that sometimes, simply listening can help the speaker heal. That's why I approach conversations with empathy, patience, and genuine attention. I don't rush to give advice or interrupt; instead, I create a safe space where you can share openly and feel heard. My own experiences of setbacks and resilience allow me to balance emotional understanding with clear, logical perspectives, so you leave our conversations feeling lighter, clearer, and supported.
Chatting with me isn't about quick fixes—it's about authentic connection. Whether you're facing heartbreak, self-doubt, or simply need someone to listen, I'm here to walk alongside you with empathy, honesty, and encouragement.

My Story
I'm a freelance photographer, and among the many projects I've worked on, dating profile photography has been one of the most fulfilling. Through photography, I've had the privilege of connecting deeply with people—not just capturing their image, but understanding their stories, struggles, and hopes.
Many of my clients were navigating relationship setbacks, but I also met people facing grief, long-standing self-esteem struggles, and other personal challenges. Witnessing their courage and resilience inspired me to extend my support beyond the camera, offering empathetic conversations to anyone carrying emotional weight.
Photography taught me that every person's journey is unique, and that authentic connection can spark healing. This realisation drives me to share my own experiences and insights, and to provide guidance for those who haven't yet taken the first step towards healing and moving forward.
Personal Journey
My own path has been filled with significant challenges—relationship rejections, betrayals, and draining encounters with large institutions. Each of these experiences became lessons in resilience and growth, shaping the empathy I bring to others today.
One of the most exhausting experiences was my encounter with the Tengah CCS, where staff seemed well-trained in pushing away responsibility in mind-blowing ways. The constant gaslighting and lack of accountability taught me how overwhelming systemic challenges can feel, and deepened my understanding of what it means to be unheard and unsupported.
The toll of these struggles eventually affected my health. By the end of 2025, I was so physically and mentally drained that I made the difficult decision to take a break until early 2026. During this time, I didn't reply to any enquiries for my photography sessions—even though I badly needed income—because I knew I had to prioritise nursing my health and regaining balance. This pause reminded me of the importance of rest, self-care, and protecting my energy.
These major turning points, both personal and institutional, strengthened my resolve to create a space where conversations are genuine, empathetic, and empowering—so no one feels dismissed or alone in their struggles.
Challenges I Faced
Alongside these major events, I also struggled with many everyday challenges that weighed heavily on me and shaped my journey:
- Difficulty saying no:
I often found it hard to turn people down. Friends sought my help or wanted to meet even when I was already struggling with time and energy.
- Lack of rest:
I worked almost from the moment I woke up until bedtime, apart from daily chores. This constant pace left me drained and without proper recovery.
- Moments of self-doubt and directionlessness:
There were times when I felt lost, unsure of my path, and disconnected from my passions. Even when asked by TCM physicians and psychologists about interests beyond photography, I struggled to answer.
- Obligation to help:
Whenever I saw someone facing problems—even if they didn't approach me directly—I felt compelled to help. This worsened when I was very involved in Telegram groups, stretching my energy thin.
- Anger at injustice:
Seeing unfairness made me angry and sad, yet I often felt powerless to change things. This emotional weight added to my exhaustion.
- Misunderstandings:
In trying to help others, I was sometimes misunderstood or blamed by people who were quick to judge without analysing the situation. These moments were painful and discouraging.
- Overexertion in photography work:
I often went the extra mile for clients, giving far beyond the agreed items. I reserved the best timings for shoots, even at the expense of sleep and meals. The inconsistent schedules and rushed meals caused serious health problems, while the sheer effort I poured into each project drained my energy and limited how many projects I could take on—affecting my income drastically.
- Client misunderstandings:
Despite spending thousands of hours building my website to explain my services and rates clearly, many people reached out without reading. This wasted time and energy, especially when it was obvious we weren't a good fit. It was discouraging to see how often good photography was undervalued.
- Unexpected setbacks:
Even small acts of kindness could backfire. Once, I was bitten while trying to save a stray cat—an experience that reminded me how unpredictable life can be.
These recurring challenges, though draining, taught me more about boundaries, self-care, and the importance of protecting my energy. They became part of the foundation for the lessons I now share with others.
How I Saved Myself
In the midst of exhaustion and setbacks, I realised I had to take active steps to nurse my health and rebuild my strength. Here are some of the ways I worked on saving myself:
- Support from a friend:
I also learned from unexpected sources, including a friend whose unconventional advice helped me see life differently. These encounters reminded me that wisdom often comes from lived experience, not textbooks. Having someone to talk to who truly understands can make a powerful difference—just as I now aim to offer through my own healing conversations.
- Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM):
I visited TCM weekly without fail, seeking medication for a long list of health problems. This was part of nursing my body back to balance after years of neglect and lack of self-love.
- Astrology insights:
Through my wife's astrology, I gained a deeper understanding of my past, present, and future. It helped me see how I react to challenges and gave me clarity about my patterns and possibilities.
- Self-research and reflection:
I immersed myself in topics like self-improvement and human behaviour. This helped me learn how to let go of unfairness, lower unrealistic expectations, and cultivate resilience.
- Experience with psychologists:
I also sought help from psychologists, hoping for new perspectives. While therapy can be valuable for many, I found their methods were things I had already researched and practiced. The conversations often felt clinical and didn't resonate with me personally, reinforcing my belief in authentic, heartfelt dialogue.
That said, I believe psychologists play a crucial role for those in a terrible or disarrayed state of mind. If someone is struggling deeply and feels unable to cope, professional help from trained therapists or psychologists is essential and should be sought without hesitation.
Each of these steps, in their own way, contributed to my healing journey. They reminded me that recovery is not about a single solution, but about exploring different paths until you find what truly resonates.
Inspiration to Help
My inspiration to start this project came from seeing people who felt stuck—like my wife's friend, who struggled to rebuild after divorce. His story reminded me how easy it is to remain in pain without support, and how transformative it can be to have someone walk alongside you. Reflecting on past conversations with my photography clients, I also see that everyone benefits from a confidence boost, and even successful people can thrive further through genuine friendship. That's why I created healing conversations: to offer empathy, perspective, and encouragement to anyone facing life's challenges.
Lessons Learned
From these experiences, I've learned valuable lessons that continue to shape the guidance I share with others:
- Resilience and self-worth:
Healing begins with self-love and recognising your own value. Learning to appreciate myself has helped me support others in embracing their own worth.
- The importance of rest:
Taking time to relax, recharge, and avoid overexertion is essential for clarity and strength. Healing is not a race, and giving ourselves permission to pause is vital.
- Boundaries in helping others:
Support should be offered to those who genuinely value it, because our energy is limited and must be protected. This has taught me the importance of boundaries and self-respect.
- Acceptance of imperfection:
Perfection is unattainable, and mistakes are part of growth. Allowing myself to be imperfect has freed me to learn, adapt, and continue moving forward with compassion—for myself and for others.
These lessons form the foundation of the empathetic support I now offer—whether someone is healing from heartbreak, coping with loss, or rebuilding confidence.
