Corporate Branding Photoshoot with Calvin Lee
During an interior shoot at his client's house in the Marina Bay area, Calvin Lee requested a branding portrait session. Instead of a traditional posed approach, I suggested a lifestyle shoot—capturing him naturally within the space while subtly showcasing his work. The luxurious setting not only provided a beautiful backdrop but also reinforced his connection with high-profile clientele.
Since this was our first meeting and conversation, I took the opportunity to understand his vision and how he wanted to present himself through his photos.
Given our limited time, I couldn't set up a full lighting system and had to rely on bounced flash for a flattering effect. The biggest challenge was balancing the lighting—I wanted to feature the stunning scenery, but the bright natural light made it tricky to retain the details in the sky. Careful adjustments were needed to ensure both Calvin and the background were well-lit.
Despite these limitations, we created a set of refined yet natural branding portraits that reflected his professional image. It was a great first collaboration and I was pleased we could make full use of the elegant location to enhance the storytelling in his photos.
