I was looking to commission a professional photographer for a collection of stylish / fun portrait pictures, to celebrate a landmark birthday of mine. I shortlisted Skai Chan and I am so pleased that I did. I had clear ideas what results I wanted and I was quite picky. I met up with Skai several weeks before the shoot, for quite an extensive briefing session, to discuss concepts, locations etc. I could tell that he was a very good listener & very patient and picked up on all the features that I was trying to achieve. He assisted with ideas on themes, wardrobe, time of day for the shoot, logistics etc. The shoot itself covered 3-4 locations in one afternoon and was so well planned, it was seamless. How many photos can I expect from the event and in what format will they be delivered? Please refer to the package for the number of photos. Generally, there will be a number of photos per hour. They will be given in digital JPG format. -
Do you provide both candid and posed shots? Yes. My forte is getting natural-looking photos taken through candid shots. Should you need any posed shots, especially group shots, we can always do it. However, do note that during an event, we have to face the fact that there are time constraints and we have to work around it; besides, I won't be able to set up professional lighting for it. Therefore, don't expect posed shots to be as good as a specially arranged portrait shoot. -
Can I request specific shots or group photos with guests? Yes! It's part and parcel of an event shoot. -
What is your approach to working with children and pets during the event? They are my favourites and I'm more comfortable working with them. I usually try to befriend them and play with them to gain their trust and cooperation for natural-looking photos. -
Do you have backup equipment in case of technical issues? Yes, I will bring along at least a spare lens for all event shoots. -

Firstly, to book a birthday session with me, simply head to my contact page where you can find the link to text me via WhatsApp. Please indicate your purpose and the package you are interested in, or otherwise, I may mistake your text as a spam.
- Package consultation:
We will have a consultation to discuss the type of event, the date, location and your preferred style of photography. This will help me understand your vision and see if we are a perfect match. We will also go over the package options and pricing. However, do note that I will only provide guidance (advices, suggestions, tips etc) after you have confirmed and booked my services officially.
- Place deposit:
To secure your booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. Once your deposit is received, your date and time will be reserved exclusively for you.
Don't worry, I'll send you all the necessary payment details when you decide to book with me. Payment can be made via PayNow or PayPal (PayPal requires extra fee).
The remaining balance is due on the day of the photoshoot.
Remember that it's best to book my photography services in advance to ensure availability. So don't hesitate to contact me as soon as possible to secure your date!
