Maternity Photography Services in Singapore
My maternity photography services are all about creating beautiful, meaningful portraits that celebrate the journey of pregnancy. I work with both private individuals and companies, producing everything from natural, candid shots to more high-end, polished portraits. Whether you prefer natural light or something more dramatic with flash, I've got the skills and equipment to bring your vision to life.
I specialise in bespoke photography, meaning every shoot is tailored to your unique preferences and ideas. We can work at any location you like—whether it's in the comfort of your home, outdoors or even at night, using professional lighting to create striking, creative images. My goal is always to deliver impactful and memorable work, capturing this special time in a way that's just right for you.
Studio Maternity Photoshoots
In my maternity portrait studio, I offer a comfortable and relaxed environment where you can feel at ease, with no distractions—just you, me and the camera (and possibly some snacks). The studio offers complete control over lighting and backgrounds, which is perfect for creating beautifully polished, high-end maternity portraits.
One major advantage of studio photography is consistency; we won't have to worry about the weather or unexpected visitors (unless you count my overly excited tripod). Whether you want something simple, elegant or more artistic, I can tailor the session to your preferences and we have all the gear on hand to make it happen.
Home Maternity Photoshoots
If you'd prefer the familiarity and warmth of your own home, I'm an expert in making interiors work in your favour. I've spent years mastering how to make even the most unexpected corner look Pinterest-worthy.
Home maternity shoots have a wonderful, personal feel and can include lifestyle photography—think candid moments of you preparing for your little one's arrival. Plus, there's nothing like having all your wardrobe options just steps away, in case you want to switch things up. And hey, if the lighting's a bit tricky in some rooms? Don't worry—I've got it covered, both literally and figuratively!
Indoor Maternity Photoshoots
For indoor maternity shoots, whether at your place, a hotel or any indoor venue, I use a combination of natural light, ambient lighting or my professional equipment to achieve the desired mood.
Do you want something soft and intimate? Natural light is our best friend. You're going for a bit of drama? Ambient light and some well-placed flashes can do the trick. I'm like a light whisperer, coaxing the perfect glow out of any space (and yes, I sometimes talk to my lights—don't judge me). Whether you're looking for a casual, lifestyle feel or something more elegant, indoor shoots give us endless possibilities to play with.
Outdoor Maternity Photoshoots
If you're more into the beauty of nature or the vibrant city vibe, outdoor maternity shoots are always a fantastic option. Parks, gardens, beaches, urban spots or iconic attractions around Singapore—I've shot at them all.
We'll take advantage of the natural light, but I also bring my professional lighting setup to ensure we're not relying on Singapore's unpredictable weather or the occasional overly curious pigeon. Want a soft, sunset glow or something bright and lively? We can do it all and we can even incorporate a gentle breeze for that perfect pregnancy goddess hair moment (though I can't promise to control the wind!).
Night Maternity Photoshoots
Looking for something unique? Night maternity photoshoots offer the chance to create dramatic, captivating images with a completely different vibe. Using my professional lighting setup, I'll blend ambient lights from the surroundings with soft flashes to create a stunning atmosphere.
Whether we're shooting under the city lights, at a beach with the moon in the background or even in your backyard with fairy lights, the photos will have that "wow" factor. And don't worry about it getting too dark—I bring enough light to ensure your baby bump is glowing, even if the sun has already checked out for the day.

About: Skai the Maternity Photographer
Hello, I'm Skai, a passionate professional maternity photographer based in vibrant Singapore. My photography journey is fuelled by my unwavering dedication to capturing the beauty and emotion of pregnancy through my lens.
I'm not just about snapping pictures; I'm all about creating meaningful, 3-dimensional portraits that tell your unique story. Whether it's a relaxed, heartfelt moment or a high-end, elegant shot, I'm here to transform your maternity photoshoot into an unforgettable experience.
My expertise extends to both natural light and flash photography, ensuring that we can craft the perfect lighting for your desired look. What's more, I specialise in on-location photoshoots, providing the flexibility to choose the backdrop that resonates with you, whether it's the comfort of your home or the beauty of the great outdoors.
Let's work together to create timeless memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime!
Skai's Vision & Goals in Maternity Photography
My vision and goals in maternity photography are deeply rooted in the recognition of the significance of mothers in the continuation of our human story. Mothers often make profound sacrifices, including their careers, changes in their body shape and the challenges they face during pregnancy and childbirth. These sacrifices are a testament to their strength and dedication in bringing new life into the world. Therefore, my primary goal is to document this joyful and transformative process, celebrating the incredible journey that mothers undertake.
I am fully aware that maternity photoshoots often involve revealing moments, depending on the client's preference. It's crucial to strike a balance between capturing the beauty of pregnancy and maintaining professionalism, taste and artistic expression. I understand the importance of creating images that are not only visually stunning but also respectful and free from negative feedback. Every maternity photoshoot is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many women and even men who want to be part of this beautiful journey. Thus, my goal is to ensure that these moments are preserved with the utmost care and artistic sensitivity.
Beyond traditional maternity photography, I aspire to embark on more creative maternity projects. These projects will push the boundaries of conventional photography, resulting in captivating and inspiring images that encourage more women to consider and cherish the idea of starting a family. By blending artistry with the celebration of motherhood, I hope to inspire and empower women on their unique journeys to motherhood, celebrating the beauty, strength and joy that come with it. My vision is to create a legacy of maternity photography that not only documents but also elevates the experience of motherhood, spreading positivity and inspiration to all who witness it.
How Skai Began Doing Maternity Photoshoots
My journey into maternity photography began unexpectedly, driven by a passion for creating captivating portrait work. It all started when a good friend's wife recognised my talent and dedication to photography. She approached me with the idea of capturing her maternity journey and I accepted the opportunity in my busy schedule.
With a deep commitment to giving my best, I embarked on this new photographic endeavour. Together with my friend's wife, we created a series of captivating and meaningful albums that beautifully documented her pregnancy, showcasing the joy and anticipation of this special time.
However, as my maternity photography gained attractions, a challenge arose. I didn't have a permanent studio space. This limitation meant that I had to decline requests from clients who preferred a studio photoshoot instead of capturing their maternity moments outdoors or in the comfort of their own homes.
I hold the belief that renting an external studio space may not always be the best choice for clients. Many studios come equipped with CCTV surveillance, which records the entire photoshoot process. This surveillance can be invasive and may not always capture flattering moments for the client. Therefore, I tend to favour outdoor or at-home photoshoots, where we can create a more relaxed and private atmosphere, ensuring that the focus remains on celebrating the beauty and significance of the maternity journey.
Why Skai Loves Doing Maternity Photoshoots
As a professional maternity photographer, I love capturing the beauty and joy of pregnancy through photographs. The creativity that comes with finding the perfect poses, lighting and compositions to create unique and beautiful images is something that I find extremely fulfilling.
Being able to capture the emotional and special time in a woman's life is truly rewarding. I love being able to give expecting families beautiful and timeless photographs that they can cherish forever. The bond that I form with my clients during the shoot is something that I cherish and it makes me feel connected to them and their journey.
From a technical perspective, maternity photography can be challenging but it's something that I find exciting. Finding ways to create flattering images while draping the mum-to-be's figure and experimenting with lighting and poses is something that I enjoy.
Overall, being a maternity photographer is a truly rewarding experience for me. I get to be creative, capture special emotions and moments, and build relationships. I couldn't be happier with my career choice.

- Quality of Images: Professional photographers have the expertise, equipment, and skills to capture high-quality and beautifully composed images. If you want stunning, well-crafted photographs that you can cherish for years to come, a professional photographer is a great choice.
- Experience and Creativity: Professional maternity photographers often have experience in posing, lighting and creative composition. They can suggest unique ideas and settings to create memorable and artistic images that truly reflect your pregnancy journey.
- Comfort and Guidance: Professionals are skilled in creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere during the photoshoot. They can provide guidance on posing and expressions, ensuring that you look your best while feeling at ease.

Lastly, as we celebrate our own pregnancy journeys, let's aspire to inspire other women. Our photographs can be a source of encouragement, showing that pregnancy is a time of beauty, strength and anticipation.
And if ever you decide that a professional touch is the right choice for your maternity photography, I'm here to offer my services in a humble and supportive manner. It's not about business; it's about ensuring you have an experience that's as memorable and meaningful as the photographs themselves.
