Andy contacted me before he and Kristine's trip to Singapore with a request that was both exciting and special. He wanted me to photograph his surprise proposal to Kristine while they were here on holiday with two of their friends. Andy had everything planned—he booked a garden dome at The Summerhouse and even hired someone to decorate it with lights and personal photos to make the moment extra memorable.

My challenge started with getting there. I wasn't driving, so I had to rely on public transport, which involved several transfers. To ensure I didn't run into any issues, I left home hours early and, luckily, everything went smoothly. I arrived almost an hour earlier than expected, giving me time to scope the venue and prepare for the shoot. This extra time was useful, as I noticed a balloon placed awkwardly in the setup and adjusted it to improve the composition for the proposal photos.

Andy looked visibly nervous, which was endearing given how confident he usually was. When the moment arrived, Kristine was led to the dome by their friends and Andy got down on one knee. The proposal was beautiful and we captured some great photos of the big moment.

After the proposal, we transitioned to a couple photoshoot. Andy and Kristine were such a joy to work with—their happiness and energy made the photos feel natural and full of life. We explored the venue, using different angles and spots to create a variety of shots. By the end of it, I couldn't help but wonder how they managed to squeeze in time to finish their meal after such a long shoot.

It was a long ride home for me and dinner had to wait until quite late. But the experience was worth every moment. Capturing such a meaningful event and working with such a lovely couple made it a truly unforgettable day.
