Corporate Photoshoot with Vinay Nagpal
When Vinay Nagpal, President of InterGlobix, first reached out to me for an event shoot, I was immediately struck by his resourcefulness and quick thinking. Despite being new to Singapore, he managed to pull off his event like a seasoned local. One moment that stood out was when he borrowed a magazine rack from a nearby tour agency that wasn't even open then. I would've hesitated to even call the number on the brochure but he somehow made it happen—it's the kind of creativity and proactiveness you don't see every day.
Vinay isn't just resourceful; he's also a master communicator. He has this way with words that are both impressive and disarming, almost as if he could negotiate sunshine on a rainy day. It's no surprise he's a natural in public relations—he's got a charm that makes people want to listen and act.
This particular shoot was taken after an exhibition, and as usual, it had its share of challenges. Since it was part of the event coverage, I had only brought my ambient light photography gear. Unfortunately, the lighting in the hall wasn't exactly friendly. Without my professional lights, I had to make the most of what was available. Vinay initially wanted a quick set of photos in front of his company banner, but based on what I'd scoped out earlier, I suggested a few other spots in the hall that looked much more refined and polished for a shoot. Thankfully, he was on board with the idea.
By the time we started, the crowd had thinned, which was a blessing—it made avoiding photobombs so much easier. Of course, Vinay being Vinay, had to stop every now and then to chat with other participants, which added a fun balancing act to the session. Even so, we managed to wrap it up quickly while delivering high-quality shots that reflected his brand's professionalism.
Reflecting on the shoot, it was a dynamic and enjoyable experience. Vinay's sharpness and charisma made even the trickier moments seem effortless. It's not every day you meet someone who turns challenges into opportunities—it was a privilege to capture his energy through the lens.
