Fashion Photoshoot with Wanping
Wanping was straightforward and thus discussion for the shoot was easy. We could confirm the date very soon without dragging it.
The original idea was to do a sporty shoot that would be nearer to the city area but much further away from her place. A sweet girl in a sports bra and tights would have drawn more reactions from viewers, especially with her beautiful smile. As she had something on during the early afternoon, I thought of doing something nearer to her place and yet special. I recalled the big abandoned water tank and decided to shoot over there, which would add some mystery feel to the shoot.
Since the venue was not very convenient to get to and I knew we had very limited time, I kept my equipment to the minimum. Wanping insisted on helping me to carry some of my load. Communication with her was enjoyable. Her tolerance level for jokes was great.
The difficulties of the shoot were the army of sneaky mosquitoes and angry red ants, the bad timing and the short duration. The structure was very high that it stretched the limit of my equipment to have a full shot of it with the model and I was glad that I had brought along my wide-angle lens. The red ants prevented me from going down to the ground like I usually would. It was a big challenge for Wanping since she was more comfortable with smiling in front of the camera. She was soon plagued with itchiness from the love bites while my slow-reaction skin started bothering me only at night. We were rather unlucky that the weather forecast stated it would be cloudy but the sky was bright during our shoot. It did rain afterwards though.
