Corporate Photo Shoot - Tengy Gay Teng Yong
There's something beneath Youer's adorable physical appearance that draws curiosity towards her. Her energy, perseverance and independence make her attractive. She's a simple girl who doesn't dress to kill; she also doesn't put on makeup. Somehow, she gives a "naive" feel that unintentionally invites guys to become her guardian angels.
This was a "last minute" shoot. Although it's supposed to be a simple head shot as assumed by most people, discussion alone was a headache, especially over the outfit. The setup of equipment was insane.
Youer travelled a long way from the West to the Central/South of Singapore and, fortunately, Google Maps didn't fail her. It took me quite some time to set up two softboxes and some equipment to the extent that I was already perspiring before fetching her from the bus-stop. After that, she helped me with setting up the six by three metres backdrop, which was "overkill" (too big) for a half body shoot - my new smaller backdrop hadn't arrived. I also set up a third light to light up the background. After doing some testing of lighting for my three artificial lights and getting some unglamorous looks of my dear model, we began with the shoot.
Youer was easygoing and that, unfortunately, made the corporate shoot more difficult. While shooting, we explored together how friendly she should appear in the photograph. She smiled naturally and I also made her laugh naturally with jokes that fortunately didn't instigate her to slap me. Perhaps, she was too nice, at least for that day.
After the shoot, Youer also helped me to dismantle the backdrop and some of the equipment. The time taken to set up and time taken to dismantle all the equipment were both shorter than the time taken for the actual shoot.
